Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these terms

By creating an account or using the VeRa app ("VeRa," "the app"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use VeRa.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country) to use VeRa. By using the app, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that all information you provide is accurate.

3. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. How VeRa works

VeRa lets you send a limited number of "Knocks" per day, each initiating a live, dual-camera photo exchange with another user. Once a Knock is opened, the recipient has a fixed reply window (currently five minutes) to respond with their own live photo before the exchange expires. A portion of your daily Knocks may be routed anonymously as "Mystery Knocks." Most content exchanged through Knocks is automatically deleted at midnight local time as part of the "Midnight Wipe," except content both participants have separately and explicitly agreed to share to the Public Feed.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to use VeRa to:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, or bully another person.
• Send sexually explicit, violent, or otherwise illegal content, or content involving anyone under 18.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity, including through Mystery Knocks.
• Capture, record, or redistribute another user's photo outside the app without their consent.
• Attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, or abuse the app's systems, including the reply timer or Midnight Wipe.

6. Content and the Public Feed

You retain ownership of the photos you take. By pushing a Reveal to the Public Feed, you and the other participant each grant Forin Labs a license to host, display, and distribute that content within the app for as long as it remains on the Public Feed. You can request removal of your Public Feed content at any time, subject to reasonable processing time.

7. Reporting and moderation

VeRa provides in-app tools to report and block other users. We may review reported content, restrict features, suspend, or permanently terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice, at our discretion.

8. No expectation of permanence

Because most content is deleted at midnight each day, VeRa is not a backup, archive, or storage service. We are not responsible for content lost through the normal operation of the Midnight Wipe, expired reply windows, or account deletion.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time in the app. We may suspend or terminate your access to VeRa if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the app.

10. Disclaimers

VeRa is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the app will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Forin Labs will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of VeRa, including content lost due to the Midnight Wipe or an expired reply window.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by other reasonable means before the changes take effect. Continued use of VeRa after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Forin Labs is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, unless otherwise required by local law.
